What is Massage

Massage is all about the client. Here at the Centre of Wellbeing everybody is an individual and is treated as such.

With a new client I will take the time to determine what is the most appropriate treatment plan. This will normally not take more then 10 minutes. However before each and every massage I like to get feedback from the previous massage session and reassess the requirements for the current session. This will allow us to track progress and ensure that each and every massage meets the ongoing needs of the client.

Every person and every massage is different. However there are a lot of common factors.

On your first visit you will be required to fill out an intake form outlining basic information about yourself and an overview of your general wellness. The therapist will then go through this with you to determine what you specific needs may be. This may take a little time especially if there are complicated issues to be addressed

The therapist will discuss with you a proposed treatment regime and what you could posible expect from it. Feel free to ask questions at any time prior, during or after the treatment.

After the session there may be a period for debriefing and looking forward to your next session and even some homework set to assist in improving your wellness.

Reflexology

What is Reflexology is the most frequently asked question.

Reflexology is a way of activating the healing powers of the body.

The principle is that there are energy zones in the body and reflex areas in the feet and hands that correspond to all major organs, glands and body parts.

The body is divided up into 10 zones running from the feet to head, and running down the arms to the fingertips. By applying pressure on the zones of the feet or hands with thumbs or fingers it can affect the entire zone throughout the body. Eg when working on the sole of the foot in the kidney area the pressure affects the whole zone throughout the body and also the other organs glands and body parts in that zone to bring improvements and balance to the entire zone.

Reflexology works on the whole body not just an ailment. It is a way to pamper the feet and to bring health and wellbeing to the body.

Reflexology is great for relieving stress and tension, improves blood supply and promotes the unblocking of nerve impulses, alleviates fatigue, eases aches and pains, cleanses the body of impurities, improves sluggish and inactive areas
