Jillian Cosgrith, Remedial Massage Therapist

Let me introduce myself. I’m the mother of two young children, one with special needs and the other, very special in her own way. They keep me on my toes and everyday is a learning experience for us all.

With my kids being just 4 and 5 years old, they do tend to dominate my time so I like to find things we can enjoy together. We recently discovered ten pin bowling, we love being creative and getting dirty.

I have always enjoyed working with people and find the human aspect of my job very rewarding. The more we know our clients, the better we are able to help.

Set aside your idea that massage is only a lovely way to indulge and spoil yourself. While it’s true that massage reduces stress and, let’s face it, feels amazing, there is so much more that a Massage Therapist can do for you.

My area of special interest is caring for women at various stages of life and improving your quality of life. Whether that is helping you (and your body) cope with a new baby, keeping up with a busy family, dealing with a stressful career or coming to terms with the changes associated with menopause and aging. There are many ways that various massage therapy techniques can be applied to help you.

You might have heard that deep tissue massage is painful and thought that it’s just not for you. Some deep tissue techniques can leave you feeling a bit sore for a few days but there are alternatives. Cupping can achieve the same results without pain. Modern cupping techniques don’t even leave the tell-tale red rings of the traditional cup-and-flame method.

During the course of our lives we often find ourselves with scars. This could be from injury, cesarean or even stretch marks. Some scar tissue results in adhesions that cause pain or restriction in movement. Others, such as stretch marks, leave us with damaged and weakened tissue. There are ways that we can help to soften scar tissue, release adhesions and rebuild damaged tissue.

Introducing a new baby to your household can be stressful for everyone. I work with families to help settle babies and improve parents’ confidence (mum and dad) through teaching massage therapy specifically designed for babies.

I look forward to working with you to help you achieve your goals for a more active, less stressful and pain free lifestyle.
